Great news for the NZ Green Party
Congratulations to the Greens! The latest New Zealand Elections have seen the Green party increase their standing to 10% of the party vote with a total of 13 MPs that will now be in Parliament. I have been incredibly impressed by the growth of the Green party which has moved out of the small activist party realm and into a real contender with strong focused policies. Although the next few years will not be easy for the party as they will still be on the backfoot of a right led government this election has shown that New Zealanders want more environmental policies to be taken seriously. It's all a step in the right direction.
One of the policies I feel most strongly about is their economic plans to provide more green jobs and increase our exports in the renewable energy sector. I will be following this policy closely in the coming term. Let's do everything we can for a greener NZ.

Product Review: Rethink Reusable Produce Bags
Don't you just hate it when you're at the local fruit and vegie store checking out the apples and you have the choice of either letting them roll around your basket or using a plastic bag? Neither option really appealed to me. So when I spotted these Rethink Reusable Produce Bags awhile back, I decided I definitely had to buy some to try them out. These reusable produce bags offered the perfect alternative to my dilemma.
I have been using them now for close to two months and they are invaluable. I bought two of the multi-packs so I have in total 4 large and 2 small bags. They are a fantastic size; the big ones are perfect for things like apples, oranges, potatoes and kumara while the smaller ones are just great for tomatoes, capsicums, carrots and limes.
These bags have honestly made quite a difference to my weekly shop and I even get quite a few complimentary comments from both other shoppers and the shop assistants. I really can't recommend these enough. They are brilliant!
The bags are 100% biodegradable and organic certified.

Bicycle goodies
I purchased a new bicycle a few weeks ago. I have been trying to find a second hand comfort bike for months but it turns out they are quite hard to find here in NZ so I bit the bullet and bought a new one. But I love it and know I'm going to have it for years to come!
But of course now I have become a little obsessed with all things bicycle related. And today I came across http://cyclestyle.com.au which has some of the coolest bike related goodies I have ever seen online! I especially love their wicker baskets and oh those capes! How cute are they?!
It has a big comfy seat! |

Easy listening Friday
You really can't go past the original, Adele is stunning and this is one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. But this rendition is really well done.
